Planning for summertime Outdoor Walks is well underway. We’ll meet at a designated spot and go! The location, distance and length of the walk will vary; I’m open to input on when and where to go.
The first walk will be next Tuesday, July 3 starting at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. We will meet at 5pm and walk on the Bronx River Pathway that leads to and from, the Dam. We’ll return to our starting point in time to enjoy the Kensico Music Festival (and fireworks) that begins there at 6pm. Bring a chair, blanket and picnic basket if you are so inclined. Bring family and friends too!
Please make sure I know if you are coming. You can RSVP by posting a comment here, or emailing: HeatherB@WalkLiveWestchester.com
All outdoor Walks are free — although in the spirit of using your 2 feet to help others, a charitable donation to the cause of your choice will be greatly appreciated. (Need an idea? I am captain of walk teams for American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association, and will glady accept a donation for either group!)
Weather permitting, here is the schedule of additional Outdoor Walks that are being planned for July – WOW!
Again, please let me know if you plan to attend!
Monday, July 16 - Meet in the parking lot at 1 Bridge Street, Irvington at 6:45 pm. We’ll walk the Aqueduct and return by 8 pm. I’d love to stick around and eat at the new MP Taverna restaurant located right there, and hope you will do the same. Let’s meet to walk and eat! (The food at MP Taverna is great!)
Saturday, July 28 – The Yonkers Philharmonic Under the Stars will be held in Untermeyer Park in Yonkers starting at 7:30 pm. The Gardens in the park are currently being renovated to restore them to their prior beauty. (They were once considered among the most beautiful gardens in the world!) Let’s meet at 6pm and try to “sneak a peak”! (I’ll do a little research beforehand to confirm if this is possible. Watch for more information in the coming weeks.)
More walks are planned for August…I have several ideas, and would love to hear your suggestions too!
Walk Strong and Happy!
